I was leafing through a magazine last week at the doctor's office and came across a pillow that looked something like this:
(the pillow was in a different colorway; green and yellow, I believe)
Anyway, I thought it would make an interesting quilt block, so I sketched out a plan for a block that would be 18in. square:
I photocopied the sketch several times so that i could get a view of the general layout of the quilt:
And by shifting alternate rows to the left and right, it creates this pattern:
Some half blocks would have to be added to the ends of the rows. I think, though, that I prefer the first layout. Here's a look at my first block:
It was so quick and easy to make. I'll make nine in all to create a quilt that will be 54 X 54in. square.
